Vortex on the other hand can install to games root directory. Note, MO2 can't install mods to games root directory, meaning you must manually install SKSE, ENB, second file of SSE Engine Fixes etc. No, MO2 uses something called USVFS, this basically tricks the game into thinking mods are installed to games data-directory while in reality they're installed into a mod-specific sub-directory of the /mods/-directory, just as mods in Vortex are installed to a mod-specific sub-directory of the "Mod Staging Folder".
